Newdale Astaire's First Ridden Show Another Success.... Fred has attended his first ridden show at Morisset over the long weekend and has continued to excel. He was ridden by Lindy Walker so that her experience could give him the best start, a move which paid off in spades! He was called in first in the Novice Hack over 15hh, and worked impeccably to deservedly win. He then followed on in the second ring much later in the day to be 3rd in the Open 15-16hh and 2nd in the Adults, being beaten by Marena Gold Leaf who went on to be Champion Hack. I look forward to pilotting him myself in the next few weeks. | ![]() |
News on the sale of Fred.... I have decided to hold on to Fred a little longer. My dear old pony Tikki passed away last month and I am now down to just one. As I planned on bugetting time and money for one horse it seems the reasons for selling him are not as dire anymore. I will post any changes in that decision via this website. I apologise to interested parties, but he really is special. I will be limitted in the number of shows I compete at, but will make them count! |

Thanks to Shaun Coffey for the Photos! | More Success for Newdale Astaire Newdale Astaire has had another outing last weekend, still only led due to my foot injury (not horse related..) attending Morrisset Ag Show on Feb 1st. He was 1st in TB Gelding, then went on to be Champion TB. We then were 2nd in Led Hack Gelding and Reserve Led Hack. Only 2 classes for 2 broad sashes! His temperament continued to be first class even by the sideshow. Well done Fred! |
New beginnings at Newdale You'll be seeing a new face around the shows with the Newdale prefix early next year. Newdale Astair is a 15 - 15.2hh bay gelding that will embark on his newcomer year in 2009. Formally good country galloper 'Can You Dance', 'Fred' has been trusted to me by his former trainer Micheal Clout. Foaled in New Zealand, he won 10 races, and just shy of $100,000 mostly throughout the Hunter Valley. He is sired by the deceased American horse Rhythm, who also sired Ethereal. A big thank you to Emma Crowfoot who spotted Fred for me. My son Beejay, who is 5, absolutely adores him as much as I do. His fantastic temperament has made a huge difference around our home! He has been to one show, for led classes only, for no less than SUPREME! Hopefully a promise of things to come.....
